About the German-Chinese Business Association (DCW)

The German-Chinese Business Association (DCW), established in 1987, is Germany’s leading association helping enterprises, organizations, specialists, and executives grow and develop their business relations with China. Within this field assistance for middle-class industrial enterprises in Germany as well as in China is of high importance for DCW.

DCW is the German member of the Euro-China Business Association (EUCBA) as well as the official German partner of the China Council of International Trade (CCPIT).

The DCW provides information about the economic development of both countries

Annually in June the DCW publishes its Jahresbericht (annual report), including comprehensive information about China’s economic development and the Chinese-German economic relations. Members and partners of DCW write about important changes within the markets and the legal and political environment and thereof deduce suggestions for the German China business. Due to their increasing importance, there also is more and more effort spent on market analyses for Chinese direct investment in Germany.

DCW’s most important publication is the China-Telegramm (China telegram), which has been published for many years in close cooperation with the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The China-Telegramm is published periodically once every two months and contains references about events hosted by DCW, the Chambers of Commerce, and others, newslets in the fields of companies, sectors, economy and politics, laws and customs, fairs and exhibitions, as well as an appointments section.

The DCW serves companies from the industrial, trade and service sector

DCW helps its members to enter into contact with companies and public authorities in China as well as in Germany. It helps Chinese provinces, towns, regions, and special economic zones hold presentations in Germany. DCW organizes business trips for market survey for German entrepreneurs, including meetings with specialists on site.

The DCW as a non-profit association does not offer individual consulting; it acts as an agency that independently conveys interested companies to competent firms offering management, law and tax consulting, as well as other services connected to the development of German-Chinese business relations.

On DCW’s online job exchange site offers and searches for specialist, executive, and internship jobs in the German China business can be found.

DCW is a platform for the exchange of experiences and ideas

DCW does, often in cooperation with partners, regularly arrange regional and nationwide events in several German – and more and more often as well in Chinese – cities. On our regional workgroup’s Jours Fixes in many German cities entrepreneurs and managers tell about their activities in China and profit from others’ experiences and keys to success.

In a an exclusively open for DCW members group on the internet-business platform XING all aspects of German-Chinese business relations can be discussed “24/7”.

DCW is in contact with the politics and the public

DCW offers help to politicians of both countries in questions of German-Chinese business relations and accompanies them on mutual visits. DCW promotes dialogue forums of business and politics, especially to make middle-class industrial businesses’ views on financial and trade barriers within bilateral business find an ear.

DCW tries to convince the public and the media of the importance of an intensification of German-Chinese business relations, citing the considerable advantages both countries might gain through these relations.
