The Board of Directors is elected on a two-year cycle. They determine the focus of the DCW, and represent the members’ interests in German-Chinese economic relations. This voluntary Board of Directors are entrepreneurs and leaders, with years of business experience in China.

Dipl.-Kfm Alexander Hoeckle was born in 1966 in Bonn, Germany. After graduating with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Aachen in 1995, he worked as a foreign trade consultant at IHK Aachen from 1998 to 2002. He later became Deputy Head of Foreign Trade at IHK Düsseldorf in 2002. In 2006, he became Deputy Managing Director in the International Division of IHK Munich and Upper Bavaria, covering the regions of: South America, Africa, Southeast Europe, Near East and Middle East. Since October 2011, he has been director of the International Division of IHK Cologne. He has experience in business travel and project activities in the following countries: UAE, Iraq, Algeria, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Paraguay, Cuba, USA, Serbia, Romania, Ghana, Angola, and China. As a member of the Board of Directors of DCW, Mr. Hoeckle contributes his extensive networks and contacts within the business and political community. He presents his consulting expertise on the topics of internationalization, globalization, and international trade fairs.

Mr. Yi Wu is the CEO of LEAD Industrietechnologie GmbH and General Manager of Aigotec GmbH. He has been a board member of the German-Chinese Business Association since 2006 and was named Vice Chairman in 2013. Apart from that, he has been a member of the Foreign Trade Committee of the Chamber of Commerce in Cologne since 2008.
After receiving a degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne he worked as Regional Manager for Export and Procurement Coordination for the Far East at the Kali Chemie AG. In 1994, he founded the company Lead Deutschland GmbH in Cologne. From 2004 to 2006 he was a board member at the Japanese-Chinese joint venture Shanghai CONTEC Co. Ltd.
Mr. Wu, additionally, has been supporting the cooperation between the German and the Chinese government and works as a strategic advisor for several German und Chinese companies. He also supports business exchange programs for students between German and Chinese universities.
