The Metropolitan Region of Central Germany is the economic centre of the new German federal states and economically highly dynamic. An excellent infrastructure, which especially connects the two major cities of Halle and Leipzig, supports the transfer of innovative technologies between economy and academia as well as the rise of next generation technologies. Local enterprises benefit from the geographical proximity to the growing markets in Eastern Europe that creates a highly competitive environment.
