In the Lower Saxony Roundtable large companies take part, as Volkswagen and Continental, Sievert Group in Osnabrück, Refratechnik in Göttingen, Otto Bock in Duderstadt, KWS in Einbeck, and many smaller SMEs from the food, renewable energy, chemical, mechine tools and trading sectors.
All of the parties mentioned above are Lower Saxony companies that have for some time already realized that investments in China have been successful in the Chinese market. The example of Volkswagen can often be read in the press. Even Otto Bock has a manufacturing facility in Shanghai, where their world famous products became a part of the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing. The Sievert Group and Continental operate production facilities in the Lower Saxon partner Province of Anhui.
By 2014, there are four Chinese direct investments in Lower Saxony. Investments by Lower Saxony companies range between 2.68 billion (immediate and direct investment) and 2.32 billion (direct and indirect portfolio investments) until 2008. (Source: Nglobal)
