Baden-Württemberg is a traditional location of industries with a high export propensity. Therefore, exports of companies from Baden-Wüttemberg to China, rose by almost 100% in the first six months of 2010, compared to last year’s period. With the rising volume of imports, China is now Baden-Wüttemberg’s fourth-largest trading partner. Furthermore, there are also close political relations with China. Through decades of contracts with Liaoning and Jiangsu, two partner provinces, Baden-Württemberg has excellent relations with two of the major economic regions of the People’s Republic.
